The Master of Education in Educational Leadership equips graduates for roles such as principals, deans, superintendents, or other administrative positions in schools. This program's curriculum meets the requirements for California's Preliminary Administrative Services Credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. The University of La Verne's educational leadership master's program cultivates emotionally aware leaders who prioritize collaborative relationships among staff, teachers, parents, and community members to enhance student success. Coursework, practical experiences, and academic projects directly connect to the daily responsibilities of school administrators. Participants can choose to pursue both the Master's degree and Preliminary Credential simultaneously or focus solely on the graduate degree.
California's two-tiered administrative credentialing system begins with the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential. Those completing credential requirements through La Verne's MEd program may obtain their Certificate of Eligibility upon graduation. Our program holds accreditation from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. The need for skilled educational leaders continues to rise, with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasting an 8% growth in principal positions between 2020-2030.
This leadership program prepares graduates to address diverse learning needs, engage various stakeholders, manage school finances effectively, and create competitive educational environments that serve their communities.
