Masters of Education in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education in Lexington United States | University of Kentucky

The Interdisciplinary Early Childhood (IEC) MEd program equips educators for leadership positions in educational settings, programs, and systems supporting children from birth to age five, including those with and without disabilities, along with their families. Upon completion, graduates receive a Master of Education degree with a specialization in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood. Throughout the program, students enhance their abilities to critically evaluate research while developing skills to both apply and generate research that enhances their professional practice. At this advanced level, learners examine not only classroom-level considerations but also broader systemic factors involving schools, families, communities, and educational policies. By participating in diverse learning opportunities—such as fieldwork, scholarly literature review, and research projects—the M.Ed. program cultivates leadership capabilities, empowering graduates to drive evidence-based improvements within their professional fields.
