Personal Statement
Write a 500-1000 word statement describing your personal goals and how a graduate degree in family sciences will help you to attain those goals. In your response, you are encouraged to:
incorporate any personal or professional background information that may be relevant
explain why you are particularly interested in attending our program at the University of Kentucky (e.g., rather than similar family-oriented degree programs at other institutions)
describe your research interests and identify the faculty member(s) whose interests most closely align with yours (see fam.uky.edu/faculty).
Three letters of recommendation
A temporary waiver of the GRE score requirement is offered to graduate school applicants that seek admission for Fall 2021 and provide documented reasons related to Covid-19.

To apply for an assistantship, please attach a Word document indicating whether you would prefer to be considered for a full-time assistantship (20 hours per week) or a half-time assistantship (10 hours per week). For the Graduate School, the minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 550 (paper-based) 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based). The minimum IELTS score is 6.5

An overall grade point average of 2.75 on undergraduate work and 3.00 on all graduate work is required by the Graduate School.
