Personal Statement
In one-to-three double-spaced pages, discuss your reasons for seeking doctoral study, short- and long-term academic and career goals, and your area of research interest. Provide a self-evaluation of your motivation, initiative, and the potential for independent learning, include an example of leadership experience where initiative and self-motivation were important to success.
Writing Sample
Provide an example of scholarly written work that demonstrates excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate clearly and logically.

Current, unencumbered RN licensure in Kentucky is required for applicants to the post-BSN Option to the PhD program in nursing, prior to first clinical course.
GRE
The Graduate Records Exam (GRE) is not required for admission, but highly recommended, GRE scores are used for competitive funding opportunities, particularly from the UK Graduate School.
Three letters of recommendation For the Graduate School, the minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 550 (paper-based) 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based). The minimum IELTS score is 6.5

An overall grade point average of 2.75 on undergraduate work and 3.00 on all graduate work is required by the Graduate School.
