The University of Kentucky's medical anthropology concentration offers structured theoretical and methodological education for graduate students pursuing critical, cultural, and biocultural perspectives on health, medicine, and human biology. Scholars specializing in this field explore diverse cultural contexts, historical factors, and political-economic influences on health and wellness, alongside examining how biomedical knowledge is created and disseminated. The GRE is not required for admission to this program during the 2021-2022 academic year. For the Graduate School, the minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 550 (paper-based) 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based). The minimum IELTS score is 6.5
An overall grade point average of 2.75 on undergraduate work and 3.00 on all graduate work is required by the Graduate School.
