The Journalism program equips students for leadership positions in the evolving media landscape through a robust curriculum combining journalism fundamentals with a broad liberal arts foundation. Students explore media frameworks, ethical considerations, legal regulations, historical perspectives, and journalism's function in diverse communities. The program cultivates analytical abilities and critical thought processes for effective cross-platform communication. With three specialized tracks, graduates are prepared for sustainable careers as journalists, visual storytellers, content creators, media executives, or other roles demanding expertise in media production and distribution. The curriculum covers both conventional and digital media formats, culminating in a hands-on capstone project involving daily multimedia content creation.

Qualification Requirements

All secondary school and college/university level transcripts must be submitted for review. The transcripts must be official and in your native language.
You will also need to provide another official transcript that has been translated into English by your secondary school or college/university.
College/university transcripts from institutions outside of the United States will be evaluated for transfer credit by our office.
The University of Kentucky accepts official TOEFL and IELTS results from the testing headquarters.
The minimum TOEFL score of 71 (iBT), 197 (cbt) or 527 (paper-based) or a minimum score of 6.0 on the IELTS is required for admission to the University of Kentucky.
