Our Broadcast & Digital Journalism program equips you with essential storytelling skills, technical expertise with professional equipment, and hands-on multimedia training. Through our curriculum, you'll explore theoretical concepts, refine your writing abilities, master video/audio production techniques, enhance content through editing, and effectively distribute your work. These competencies come together in our culminating capstone course where you'll produce live studio broadcasts.
Our graduates have secured positions at various news outlets, from regional stations (Tupelo, Jackson, Memphis) to major markets (Orlando, Milwaukee, Omaha). Many have leveraged our local and national internship programs to launch careers with prominent organizations like ESPN and The SEC Network.

Qualification Requirements
Certified, translated copies of all transcripts, mark sheets, and diplomas from your school. Mississippi State recommends all school credentials from non-U.S. institutions be submitted through a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services member (NACES member agency, https://www.naces.org/members) for a course-by-course evaluation with grade point average calculation. MSU's preferred transcript evaluation service is TEC or MyIEE.
An official ACT score of 20 or higher, or SAT score of 1030 (only if your GPA is below 3.0 based on our evaluation of your transcripts OR if you are applying for scholarships).
International undergraduate students applying to Mississippi State University must demonstrate English language proficiency in order to register for academic courses. The following methods of a demonstration are approved:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum band score of 6.0.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum 525 for paper-based test, 197 for computer-based test, and 71 for Internet-based test
English portion of the ACT: minimum 19.
Duolingo English Test score of 120
