Foundations students explore the fundamental building blocks of artistic and design creation, discovering how these elements interconnect creatively. As part of this journey, you might construct large-scale cardboard sculptures, develop observational drawing skills while learning to perceive through your artwork, experiment with painting, collage, and mixed media, create photographs and videos, showcase projects in our galleries, and gain the ability to discuss both your own work and peers' creations. With intentionally small class sizes, students form close-knit communities where they collaborate and exchange constructive feedback. This program helps students establish their initial professional connections, grasp design thinking methodologies, and hone creative problem-solving skills while producing compelling art and design projects.
