Medical laboratory scientists are highly trained healthcare experts who examine patient samples to aid in detecting, diagnosing, and treating diseases while tracking overall health. From routine health screenings to global health crises like COVID-19, these professionals utilize advanced equipment to study blood, tissues, and bodily fluids, contributing to significant medical discoveries that capture worldwide attention.
By enrolling in KU's Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS) program, students gain practical experience for clinical lab work and engage in collaborative learning with physicians, nurses, and other medical specialists.
Through close mentorship from our skilled instructors, students develop crucial communication abilities to effectively convey technical details to colleagues and medical teams. Graduates of our program enter their careers with greater assurance, thanks to the comprehensive and diverse training they receive through KU's CLS curriculum.
Admission will be granted to students who meet the following standard:
A minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for all previous coursework, including transfer coursework.
English Proficiency:
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: 79 (18 minimum subscore)
TOEFL paper-delivered test: 60 (18 minimum subscore)
IELTS: 6.5 (6.0 minimum subscore)
PTE Academic: 53
