The bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology is one of the newest degrees offered at our Brooklyn campus. The medical technology program prepares students for careers in the healthcare field as medical technologists. Also known as clinical laboratory science, the medical technology major requires three years of coursework at the University and one year of clinical training at the New York Methodist Hospital School of Medical Technology. Graduates of our medical technologist program are eligible for licensure in New York state.
Those who graduate with a medical technology degree can be hired as clinical laboratory scientists. Clinical laboratory scientists make the practice of modern medicine possible. Using state-of-the-art equipment and computer technology, they perform a variety of complex laboratory procedures which are essential to a patient's medical care.
