Our Master of Fine Arts program cultivates professional visual artists and is consistently ranked among the nation's elite programs.

For the Art MFA, students specialize in two of eight disciplines: painting and drawing, printmaking, ceramics, jewelry and metalwork, sculpture and intermedia, 3D design, graphic design, or photography. Among public institutions, our printmaking program ranks third nationally, painting and drawing ranks sixth, and the overall MFA program holds the ninth position.

Alumni achieve success as professional artists, art professors, educators, museum leaders, theater designers, and commercial creatives. Recent graduates have earned prestigious honors like Guggenheim Fellowships and The Rome Prize, exhibited globally, and joined university faculties nationwide.
