Graduates will gain the ability to utilize social and behavioral science theories in public health studies, craft compelling scientific documents, showcase proficiency in grant applications, engage in cross-disciplinary research, effectively share findings with diverse stakeholders such as policymakers and local communities, develop culturally sensitive research methodologies that account for social, behavioral, and biological influences, create community-focused intervention projects grounded in theory, devise implementation and assessment strategies for theory-based community interventions, generate targeted research inquiries to fill knowledge gaps in community health, critically assess research approaches in social and behavioral sciences as they relate to public health, and analyze how systemic biases, social disparities, and racism impact health outcomes while hindering progress toward health equity across different societal levels.
