The interdisciplinary studies program at Iowa enables students to craft a customized curriculum aligned with their academic and professional aspirations. Learners can develop a personalized study path or select from established tracks in applied human services, business studies, or health sciences. Each concentration incorporates coursework from multiple disciplines. Past students have created unique study plans focusing on diverse fields such as global commerce, cultural diversity, childhood development, and ecological concerns. With Iowa's extensive faculty knowledge and offerings across 200+ academic disciplines, students can tailor their education to match nearly any interest area. Program advisors assist in linking students with these valuable academic resources.
Students must meet the following requirements for admission: completion of academic upper secondary school (generally a total of 12-13 years of primary and secondary education); a corresponding secondary school diploma or leaving certificate; completion of minimum high school course requirements of the following: 4 years of English/language arts; 2 years in a single language of world languages; 3 years including courses in physical science, biology, chemistry, environmental science and physics of natural science; 3 years of social studies; 2 years of algebra; and 1 year of geometry.
