The Biophysics and Quantitative Biology program awards a Doctor of Philosophy degree. In exceptional cases, with approval from both the director and advisor, enrolled students may pursue a terminal master's degree upon fulfilling its requirements. Note that applicants are not admitted directly into the master's program. Our goal is to educate students capable of innovative work bridging theoretical and experimental approaches, preparing them to become future leaders in biological research. The biophysics curriculum aims to equip students with comprehensive knowledge in physics, chemistry, and biology, empowering them to tackle biological challenges using physical science methodologies. The flexible program structure accommodates students from diverse academic backgrounds, whether their prior training emphasizes physical sciences or combines biological sciences with physical science exposure.
