This program is designed for graduates of the University of Illinois' Early Childhood Education undergraduate program in Curriculum & Instruction. It leads to an EdM degree in Infancy & Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), equipping students to support young children with disabilities and their families. The master's program is founded on key principles: (1) families play a vital role in professional partnerships and are essential team members, (2) children actively engage in their learning process, and (3) all participants - children, families, and professionals - gain valuable insights from the diverse perspectives within the team. The curriculum combines academic study with practical experience to foster professional development, emphasizing self-reflection as a crucial element of the training.
