The School of Music provides extensive musical education for students looking to blend their artistic passions with academic pursuits through the Doctor of Musical Arts program. Specialization areas for the DMA include choral music, wind band conducting, orchestral conducting, jazz performance, music composition, performance studies, and vocal coaching/accompanying. This doctoral program requires at least three years to complete, with most students targeting graduation within four to five years.

Requirements for admission to the Master of Music (MM) programs are a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign or an equivalent degree from another accredited institution. TOEFL - 96 IBT , IELTS - 7 must have a score of 6.5 or higher in all sub-sections. A grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (A=4.0), or comparable GPA for an international applicant, for last two years of undergraduate study is a minimum requirement for admission.
