The Department of Public Policy, Management, and Analytics provides graduate studies culminating in a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree. This curriculum equips students with skills to examine and assess data for solving intricate policy challenges. The MPP program's objective is to develop professionals capable of interpreting information to tackle sophisticated policy matters. MPP graduates are highly valued as analysts and decision-makers due to their expertise in processing extensive quantitative data through statistical methods while comprehending the institutional, social, economic, and political frameworks of policy implementation. In contrast to the MPA degree's concentration on administration, financial matters, and budgeting, the MPP degree prioritizes policy assessment, statistical analysis, and program appraisal. This program particularly suits social sciences and humanities undergraduates looking to enhance their analytical capabilities, as well as STEM graduates with public sector interests. For degree programs (MPA/MPP/MSCA) requiring 41-64 graduate credit hours, completion must occur within six continuous years. Dual-degree candidates receive an extra two years. Failure to meet these timelines results in program dismissal for insufficient progress. Approved leaves of absence by both the program and Graduate College don't count toward degree completion time.
