The Master of Arts in political science provides diverse specialization options across and within the discipline's four core areas—American government, comparative politics, international relations, and political philosophy. The program excels in studying ethno-religious relations, gender in politics, conflict studies, rights advocacy, political behavior, economic policy, and Hispanic political engagement.
Professors actively participate in cross-disciplinary research initiatives both at ASU and with colleagues nationwide, with numerous recipients of prestigious grants and honors. The department houses several research hubs including the Future of War Center, the Latina/o Politics Research Center, and a behavioral research facility. Faculty members also collaborate with other university institutes such as the Leadership and National Security Laboratory, the Religion and Conflict Research Center, the Melikian Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, and the Economic Freedom Research Center.
