The French and Francophone Studies program at UIC, available as both a major and minor, helps you enhance your French language skills while exploring the rich literary, historical, and cultural traditions of French-speaking communities worldwide.
Our diverse course offerings, spanning intermediate to advanced levels, enable you to engage with authentic materials while studying Versailles, World War I, the Négritude movement, feminist thought, and Parisian urban culture. You'll develop research skills using French-language sources and methodologies.

First-year applicants are currently enrolled in high school or have not attended college since graduation.
