Our world appears to be shrinking at an ever-increasing rate. The expansion of global commerce, swift technological progress, unprecedented levels of cross-cultural interaction and worldwide travel, the development of international legal frameworks, the increasing influence of global non-governmental organizations, and pressing environmental concerns have all contributed to a more interconnected planet. This phenomenon of globalization has reshaped our world, presenting both fresh possibilities and numerous new difficulties. The Global Studies Program aims to help students comprehend the ongoing evolution of globalization while equipping them with the academic foundation needed for modern careers that demand an international outlook.
The Associate in Arts for Transfer degree in Global Studies equips students with fundamental knowledge to smoothly transition into Bachelor's Degree programs across CSU institutions. This specialized Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T or AS-T) is available at California Community Colleges. Graduates with an AA-T or AS-T are assured admission to a California State University (CSU) in a related field, though not necessarily to their preferred campus. These graduates receive priority consideration for similar programs and enjoy GPA benefits when applying to competitive CSU campuses or majors. Prospective AA-T or AS-T students are strongly encouraged to consult with an academic counselor for detailed information about this transfer pathway.
Graduates of high schools or equivalent are eligible for admission, with the equivalent of a GPA of 2.0 or better.
