To qualify for honors in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies, students must maintain an above-average academic performance, especially within their concentration. Honors candidates must finish either a thesis or an approved alternative project. With guidance from relevant faculty members, they will pick a topic and select both a primary thesis advisor and a secondary reader. Typically, honors candidates enroll in POBS 0193/0194 (Research and Preparation of Honors Projects) during their final two semesters, though these independent study credits cannot count toward the concentration's minimum course requirements.
