Fire remains an inherent and enduring component of forest and rangeland ecosystems. With increasing residential expansion into wild areas, the demand for skilled fire specialists continues to grow. As a student of fire ecology, you'll develop expertise in understanding wildfire patterns, causes, and their ecological and societal consequences. The curriculum covers methods for assessing fire impacts on soil and plant life, creating fire maps, and implementing controlled burns across diverse environments.

This program equips graduates to address natural resource challenges by applying their fire ecology training and practical abilities, while also tackling broader concerns like environmental impacts, policy matters, economic factors, and community safety issues surrounding wildfires.
