The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders provides a two-year, intensive Master of Science program in Speech Language Pathology (SLP). This graduate program meets all academic and clinical standards set by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) for SLP clinical certification. With a strong focus on evidence-based methods, the curriculum offers comprehensive clinical training and research opportunities. Learners enhance their abilities by treating diverse patient populations at all life stages through both the UH Speech and Hearing Clinic and external clinical rotations. Expert faculty members with specialized knowledge across SLP practice areas guide and instruct students. Participants gain distinctive hands-on experience while serving Hawaii's vibrant multicultural and multilingual communities.
