Many students aim to apply their education toward careers in fields like aquaculture, biotechnology, biological research, dentistry, marine biology, medicine, optometry, park management, pharmacy, or education. Our alumni boast an impressive track record of admission to advanced programs in dental, medical, pharmaceutical, and graduate schools. Numerous graduates also pursue teaching careers after earning their post-baccalaureate teaching certification through the College of Education.
The School of Life Sciences (previously known as the Department of Biology) oversees the Zoology Graduate Program, which provides a research-focused Ph.D. in Zoology designed for students pursuing research-oriented careers.
