This program partners with Hanger Clinic to provide a Master of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Specialists in this discipline create, build, and customize orthotic and prosthetic devices for patients of all ages, from children to seniors. Additionally, a five-year dual BS/MSPO degree option is available. The Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO) is an intensive, campus-based program that equips students for careers in these healthcare fields. Our program is among only 13 accredited MSPO programs nationwide. U.S. News and Report ranks Orthotist & Prosthetist as the #16 position in their 100 Best Jobs ranking. Prosthetists develop and fit artificial limbs (prostheses) for patients with limb loss or absence.

Orthotists create and adjust orthopedic braces (orthoses) to improve mobility and treat patients with limb or spinal impairments. Cutting-edge technological developments bring significant improvements to prosthetic and orthotic users. For instance, microprocessor-controlled prosthetic knees enhance walking stability and efficiency, while Bluetooth-enabled orthoses can connect with nervous systems to boost motor function. The intersection of healthcare, engineering, and material science creates a distinctive role for prosthetists/orthotists in modern medical teams. As technology evolves, so does the complexity of training the next generation of orthotic and prosthetic practitioners.

The MSPO program consists of 60 credits completed over two years of full-time study. Below is a selection of course offerings.
