The University of Hartford's Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology (GIPP), part of the College of Arts and Sciences, offers a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology. This program trains students to become skilled, empathetic, and self-reflective clinical psychologists equipped to excel in diverse professional capacities. UHart's PsyD program aims to cultivate proficient, caring, and self-aware practitioners who: Deliver exceptional direct clinical services, Provide valued consultation to human service organizations, Stay informed about contemporary research and theoretical advancements, Design and assess clinical programs effectively, Take on leadership roles in clinical environments. The program actively promotes diversity across all dimensions. As an NCSPP member institution, the doctoral program upholds and implements the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology's standards, curricular recommendations, and diversity principles in training future psychologists.

Qualification Requirements

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required.

International applicants are preferred to be proficient in English — or have TOEFL, PTE or IELTS if you are not a native speaker of the English Language. Average TOEFL scores for students range from a minimum of 80 (Internet Based Total), and 550 (Paper Based Total). The minimum score for the PTE is a 58. IELTS minimum score for graduate studies is 6.5.
