Hartt's oboe program provides a dynamic, collaborative setting where students push each other to reach new heights, nurturing creative development and equipping them with essential skills for professional success in music. The Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program cultivates well-rounded musicians by balancing exceptional artistry with academic rigor. Every course of study prepares graduates for elite careers in performance, education, or composition. Typically requiring at least two years beyond a master's degree, the DMA program mandates full-time residency during the first year with a minimum 9-credit course load per semester. Students may begin with one summer session before residency. All DMA requirements must be fulfilled within seven years of initial enrollment.
