The Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program cultivates well-rounded musicians by focusing on exceptional artistry combined with scholarly understanding. Every curriculum is tailored to equip graduates for top-tier careers in performance, education, or composition. Typically, the DMA requires at least two years of study beyond a master's degree. Students must complete their first year in residence as full-time candidates, maintaining a minimum course load of 9 credits per term. A summer session before residency is allowed. All DMA coursework must be finished within seven years of initial enrollment.
