The Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program cultivates well-rounded musicians, focusing on exceptional artistry and academic understanding. Designed for aspiring professionals, the curriculum equips graduates for top-tier performance, teaching, or composition careers. Typically requiring two years beyond a master's degree, the DMA mandates full-time residency during the first year with at least 9 credits per semester. Students may begin with one summer session before residency. All DMA requirements must be fulfilled within seven years of enrollment.

Qualification Requirements
Complete an audition and interview*. All applicants will have an interview within their major's department or with their audition panel. Applicants to all graduate music education programs will also complete a brief music skills assessment test.
