You can specialize in either global security or global development, while also exploring a dual major in political science, economics, or modern languages and cultures. At UHart, your education extends worldwide—75% of international studies students participate in study abroad programs during semesters, full academic years, or through Winterterm and Summerterm opportunities. You may focus on global security or global development while considering complementary majors in government studies, economics, or cultural and language programs.
For those pursuing careers in public service, corporate sectors, education, nonprofit organizations, or legal fields, our international studies program provides essential groundwork. It also serves as excellent preparation for advanced degrees across multiple disciplines. The curriculum consists of 15-32 credits, featuring core requirements and specialized electives within your chosen Global Security or Global Development concentration. Students earning a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies will: Acquire a multidisciplinary understanding of worldwide challenges through language, cultural studies, history, economics, and political science. Learn to value diverse viewpoints while applying various analytical approaches with thoughtful consideration. Cultivate awareness of America's global influence across cultural, economic, historical, and political dimensions. Build specialized knowledge within specific international studies themes. Achieve intermediate-level proficiency in a foreign language. Hone research capabilities within international studies. Strengthen analytical reasoning, critical evaluation, and effective communication abilities.
You can apply if you are currently enrolled in high school or secondary school, or if you have completed high school or secondary school, but have not started a degree.
You will be required to present the following results: 2.75 (out of 4.0); 3.75 (out of 5.0); 80% (out of 100); 70% (out of 100) India/Canada.
