The PhD in Educational Administration and Policy equips graduates for professional roles in education policy research or leadership across P-12 systems, government agencies, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations.
This educational administration and policy program is dedicated to delivering exceptional instruction, cutting-edge research, and valuable services to enhance learning outcomes for every student.

Through this program, students develop the skills needed for careers as education policy experts, academic researchers, higher education faculty members, and school system leaders.

The curriculum offers comprehensive training in policy evaluation, administrative theory, social sciences, educational philosophy, and diverse research methodologies encompassing historical, economic, legal, qualitative, and statistical approaches. Learners employ interdisciplinary and analytical perspectives to examine challenges in education policy and implementation within pluralistic democratic environments.

Applicants must submit valid (within the past five years) GRE scores with their UGA Graduate School application.

Statement of Purpose
In no more than two single-spaced pages, describe your research interests, past academic and professional background, and long-term goals for using the doctoral degree. You should also list two to three faculty members with whom these research interests are a fit, as well as the reasons why you see the UGA College of Education as a fit for your professional goals.

Writing Sample
Please submit a writing sample, which may be excerpted from a longer piece of academic writing but limited to five to eight double-spaced pages. If the writing sample is an excerpt, please include a paragraph or two providing context about its source.

Please do not exceed the recommended page limits for the Statement of Purpose or the Writing Sample.

Minimum TOEFL score requirement: overall score of 80 with at least 20 on speaking and writing
Minimum IELTS score requirement: overall band-width of 6.5, with no single band (score) below 6.0
