The Master of Science in Sport Management, crafted by UF's distinguished faculty, incorporates cutting-edge developments in the sports field, offering a balanced blend of theoretical foundations and practical applications essential for thriving in this sector. Participants can select from two pathways: 1.) Non-Thesis with a Capstone Project or 2.) Thesis. Graduates will gain the expertise to: Effectively introduce advanced principles of planning, organizing, leading, and assessing organizational objectives within sports entities, Formulate financial approaches and analyze budgets along with revenue streams and expenditures pertinent to sports organizations, Implement core marketing principles tailored to the sports sector, devise marketing strategies, assess target audiences, and forecast consumer trends, Interpret and assess key legal frameworks concerning torts, contracts, and constitutional law as they relate to sports management, Grasp the multidisciplinary aspects of sport management at an advanced proficiency, Analyze both internal and external elements that impact and define the sports landscape, Employ qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods through structured and flexible assessment techniques.
A recognized baccalaureate, graduate or professional degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a comparable degree from an international institution.
A minimum grade point average of B (3.0), calculated from all grades and credits after the semester where the applicant reached 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours.
For applicants from countries (including Puerto Rico) where English is not the official language, a minimum score on one of these English Language Skills tests: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 550 paper, or 80 Internet; International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 77, or documented successful completion of the University of Florida English Language Institute program.
