The CSUF Athletic Training Program (ATP) is an intensive professional course designed to train future athletic trainers (ATs), a healthcare profession recognized by the American Medical Association. Participants engage in both classroom learning and hands-on clinical training, developing critical thinking skills for preventing, diagnosing, and treating various medical conditions ranging from emergencies to chronic disabilities. Graduates receive a Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) degree and qualify to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC, Inc.) examination to obtain their ATC certification. The Kinesiology Department promotes research and application of human movement throughout life within our evolving, diverse society. Both undergraduate and graduate Kinesiology programs provide specialized tracks in Exercise Science, Gerokinesiology, Pre-Allied Health, Recreation and Physical Activity Promotion, Sport Studies, Strength and Conditioning, and Teacher Education, along with an undergraduate minor option. The MSAT program is a rigorous, full-time curriculum that educates students to become certified athletic trainers.
