Temple's College of Public Health offers a Master of Science in Kinesiology that equips students for doctoral studies or research-oriented careers examining human movement. This program features two specialized tracks: Integrative Exercise Physiology and Athletic Training. The Athletic Training graduate program at Temple University's Department of Kinesiology aims to enhance certified athletic trainers' practical expertise, advance the field's knowledge base, and share innovative findings. Note that this program doesn't qualify graduates for the Board of Certification exam. Those seeking athletic trainer certification should explore the Master of Science in Athletic Training (M.S.A.T.) program instead.
The Athletic Training concentration exclusively accepts currently certified athletic trainers or students in accredited professional AT programs. Prospective students without certification should apply to our Master of Science in Athletic Training program. This research-intensive Athletic Training specialization develops students' ability to assess scientific literature and produce original research contributions. Designed for practicing athletic trainers, the curriculum emphasizes evidence-based practice and advanced experiential learning to advance professional growth.
