The coastal and oceanographic engineering curriculum is provided by the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering, offering three degree options: Master of Engineering, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy. With supervisory committee approval, graduate courses from the College of Engineering (EGN) and departments including Environmental Engineering Sciences, Geological Sciences, and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering may count toward major requirements.
The Master's degree program mandates at least 30 semester credit hours and offers both thesis and non-thesis tracks. The thesis option allows up to 6 credit hours from Master's Research (EOC 6971), while the non-thesis path focuses solely on coursework. Research assistantship recipients are required to complete a thesis.
