Minimum requirements for admission to this program include the following:

A recognized baccalaureate, graduate, or professional degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a comparable degree from an international institution
3.0 upper-division undergraduate grade point average
Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions previously attended sent to the UF Office of Admission
Statement of Purpose/Letter of Intent: The statement of purpose gives you the opportunity to explain who you are and what you would like to achieve by obtaining a graduate degree from UF AEC. Please respond to all of the following prompts. Your statement of purpose should be no longer than 3 single-spaced pages.
Background. Introduce yourself and explain what led you to apply to the UF/AEC graduate program. What are your career or life goals? How does a graduate degree help you in achieving your career or life goals?
Academic Potential. How have your past academic experiences prepared you for graduate school? How would you describe your approach to learning? What prior experiences do you have with research and writing? What initial ideas do you have for your research (or project for non-thesis MS)?
Experience. How has your professional work experience prepared you to pursue a graduate degree? If you have no professional work experience, what other experiences have prepared you to pursue a graduate degree? How do you approach adversity and stay committed to your goals?
Fit. Which of our specializations do you think will allow you to develop the competencies you will need for your anticipated career? Why? Why is UF/AEC the right program for you? Which of our faculty have the expertise which aligns with your interests? Have you met with them?

Applicants with a bachelor's degree only, a minimum grade point average of B (3.0), calculated from all grades and credits after the semester where the applicant reached 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours is required. For applicants from countries where English is not the ofcial language, a minimum score on one of these English Language Skills tests, IELTS - 6.0,TOEFL IBT- 80, PBT- 550.
