Our MURP degree program on campus has maintained continuous accreditation from the Planning Accreditation Board (PAB) since 1978, representing the top tier of recognition for graduate planning education. Alongside a core curriculum grounded in urban and regional planning principles, we provide focused courses in Environmental Planning, Land Use and Transportation, Housing and Community Development, Economic Development, Planning Information Technologies, and Urban Design.
To prepare future planning professionals, we employ diverse educational approaches. These encompass conventional seminar/lecture formats, hands-on studio projects tackling real-world challenges in team settings, field internships for practical experience, and individualized thesis research. Students are also invited to engage with the vibrant civic environment of our home community, Gainesville/Alachua County.
The standard Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) degree requirements include: A four-semester course of study incorporating a professional internship, totaling fifty-two credit hours.
