The Latin American Business Environment (LABE) program provides an interdisciplinary curriculum for students passionate about Latin America, equipping them with analytical skills for diverse careers in business, government, NGOs, and other sectors. Through coursework and hands-on activities, LABE fosters practical learning experiences to ready students for professional advancement. Additionally, the program engages with the broader community and corporate sector via speaking events and publications, such as its yearly Latin American Business Environment report.
The Center for Latin American Studies provides these graduate options: A Master of Arts in Latin American Studies, a graduate certificate in Latin American studies, and a specialized graduate certificate in Tropical Conservation and Development. The Latin American studies graduate curriculum draws from over 250 courses with regional focus, spanning 35+ academic departments across multiple colleges.
The MALAS program thrives through vibrant exchanges among faculty and students from varied backgrounds and disciplines. Learners work alongside 180 affiliated faculty from humanities, sciences, and professional schools to craft personalized study plans incorporating university-wide courses. MALAS alumni pursue careers in education, research, international organizations, government, and private enterprises throughout the Americas, while others advance to doctoral programs.
