The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures provides Master of Arts (M.A.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs in French and Francophone Studies, along with an M.A. in German Studies.
With 15 distinct language programs, LLC delivers education in global languages and cultures. Students can learn diverse languages like Swahili, Italian, Russian, and Vietnamese, preparing them to navigate our increasingly interconnected world as cultural specialists.

LLC's curriculum allows students to focus on one language or combine two, while examining culture through multiple interdisciplinary approaches: Intensive Regional Studies, Cross-Cultural Analysis, Visual Media Studies, Literary Analysis, and Historical Period Studies. Additionally, through the UF-CLAS Shared Language Program, we now provide introductory language courses to students across the State University System.
