This program aims to develop outstanding researchers and educators for academic roles and other learning environments, while also training methodology advisors for government and private entities, as well as assessment specialists for grant organizations.
The Ph.D. program welcomes applicants with just a bachelor's degree as well as those who already possess a graduate degree. Bachelor's degree holders will enter a combined M.A.E./Ph.D. track, involving both a master's thesis and doctoral dissertation. Those admitted directly to the doctoral program with a completed master's must undertake a research project equivalent to a master's thesis.
With approval from the Research and Evaluation Methodology faculty on the student's doctoral committee, a master's thesis from another institution may fulfill this requirement.
Doctoral candidates in Research and Evaluation Methodology must complete at least 90 credit hours of coursework, including a minimum of 20 hours in EDF7980 Doctoral Research.
