The Methodology, Measurement, and Analysis specialization within the Education PhD curriculum equips future methodologists across education, social sciences, and related human science fields for academic careers or professional practice. Qualification Requirements

A master’s degree in a closely related field. Official, competitive GRE score taken within the last five years. Three letters of recommendation:These letters should be written by graduate faculty who can judge the applicant’s abilities in a doctoral program, including their research and writing skills. One of the letters may be from the applicant’s employer/supervisor. This letter will support the applicant’s professional experience and commitment to the program. Goal statement: Written essay that describes both of the following. Total word count should be 500 words or less, single-spaced: Why you are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in the Methodology, Measurement, and Analysis track. This should also address current and/or previous academic and professional experiences and how they align to your interest in pursuing a Ph.D. in the Methodology, Measurement, and Analysis track. Your future career plans and how a degree from the Methodology, Measurement, and Analysis Ph.D. track is aligned with and will help you achieve your career goals.. Curriculum Vitae that reflects prior education, recent professional accomplishments, any recent scholarly work (publications, presentations, grants, research participation), awards, scholarships, additional professional certifications, teaching, volunteer/service activities, and membership/leadership/activities with professional organizations and community service organizations. For recent graduates, this can include accomplishments as a student. Writing Sample: At least 5,000 words that demonstrates the ability to complete graduate-level coursework. Acceptable writing samples must be single authored (i.e., no co-authored documents) and may include a chapter from a master’s thesis, a conference paper, a term paper for a seminar, or other research projects that demonstrate the applicant’s ability to pursue the type of research that could possibly lead to a completed dissertation. Interview. Applicants to this program, except those that have earned or will earn a Masters or Doctoral degree from an accredited U.S. institution recognized by UCF, who have attended a college/university outside the United States must provide a course-by-course credential evaluation with GPA calculation. Minimum UCF Requirement for TOEFL/IELTS TOEFL iBT score of 80 IELTS band score of 6.5
