The Environmental Health concentration within the PhD in Public Health program is administered by the Department of Environmental and Global Health at the University of Florida's College of Public Health and Health Professions. This specialized track equips students with the skills for autonomous scientific research and prepares them for leadership positions in environmental and public health fields, particularly focusing on the effects of chemical and biological contaminant exposure.
To complete the PhD in Public Health with an Environmental Health concentration, students must earn at least 90 credit hours beyond their bachelor's degree. The curriculum encompasses foundational public health studies (15 credits), statistical and quantitative methods (12 credits), professional development (6 credits), specialized environmental health courses and electives (36 credits), teaching experience (3 credits), and dissertation work (18 credits).
