The History Department provides graduate programs including: a Master of Arts with focus areas in African, European, Latin American, and U.S. history, plus a Ph.D. program specializing in these same regions or through a dual major option that enables students to blend two minor concentrations into a customized major field. Thematic minors are available in Atlantic studies, Gender studies, Legal history, Religious studies, and World History.

Qualification Requirements

A recognized baccalaureate, graduate or professional degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a comparable degree from an international institution.
Applicants with a bachelor's degree only, a minimum grade point average of B (3.0), calculated from all grades and credits after the semester where the applicant reached 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours is required.

Earned a prior bachelor's degree, master's degree or doctoral degree at an accredited university in the United States or have official proof of successfully completing the UF English Language Institute's program before applying.

Academic transcripts. Your official transcripts should also be sent to the Office of Graduate Admissions.

For applicants from countries where English is not the ofcial language, a minimum score on one of these English Language Skills tests, IELTS - 6.0,TOEFL IBT- 80, PBT- 550.
