The woodwind program at UF aims to cultivate versatile musicians with expertise in music history, theory, performance techniques, and teaching methods. This comprehensive approach equips students for diverse career paths or advanced studies post-graduation. Students receive personalized instruction and participate in studio classes led by dedicated faculty artists. Performance options abound through the School of Music, featuring studio recitals, woodwind-focused performances, convocation events, master classes with visiting artists, and the yearly Concerto Competition. Additional performance experiences are available through community ensembles and regional performance spaces.
