The woodwind program at UF aims to develop versatile musicians with expertise in music history, theory, performance techniques, and teaching methods. This comprehensive training equips students for diverse career paths or advanced studies post-graduation. Students receive personalized instruction and participate in studio classes led by dedicated faculty artists. Performance options abound through the School of Music, featuring studio recitals, woodwind-specific performances, convocations, master classes with visiting artists, and the yearly Concerto Competition. Additional performance experiences are available through community ensembles and regional performance spaces.

Qualification Requirements

At least three full years of your most recent secondary school transcript(s), including courses in progress (grades 9, 10 and 11 + senior schedule) in both the native language of instruction and a word for word certified English translation (if applicable).
All applicants must submit test scores from the SAT, ACT and/or CLT. UF will superscore (take the highest scores for each subsection) to create the highest possible total score. UF does not require or encourage applications to complete the essay portion of the ACT.
