This program is tailored for students pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree while also exploring additional academic disciplines to earn a second bachelor's degree. Students can choose from various programs across multiple colleges, including Agriculture and Life Sciences, Business Administration, Design, Construction and Planning, Education, Engineering, Health and Human Performance, Public Health and Health Professions, Journalism and Communications, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the School of Natural Resources and Environment. The objective of this dual-degree path is to enable students to finish coursework for both majors within four years (excluding five-year Engineering programs).
Those interested in combining music with another field will begin with their core music requirements (tracking courses) and progressively incorporate courses from their second major during the initial four semesters. Students frequently have the opportunity to fulfill multiple requirements simultaneously, completing both their second major's coursework and general education prerequisites. For instance, a student majoring in both music and psychology could enroll in PSY 2012 General Psychology, which satisfies both a psychology tracking requirement and the Social and Behavioral Sciences general education credit.
