Global and domestic events demonstrate that religion remains an influential factor, capable of producing both beneficial and harmful outcomes. A religion major equips undergraduates with fundamental skills to comprehend worldwide religious diversity within its appropriate historical, sociopolitical, psychological, cultural, and philosophical frameworks. Graduates in religion have pursued careers with NGOs and faith-based organizations, engaging in pastoral duties and leadership roles. The program offers genuinely cross-disciplinary education, with alumni advancing to graduate studies across various fields like humanities, social sciences, legal studies, education, media, and community services. UF's religion curriculum synergizes well with other academic disciplines such as Latin American studies, environmental studies, Jewish studies, African studies, and Asian studies.
