Gonzaga's Catholic Studies program provides an interdisciplinary examination of the Catholic intellectual heritage through coursework in religious studies, philosophy, history, classical studies, and the arts. Students in our program examine both the evolution of Roman Catholic doctrines and practices, and how this intellectual tradition engages with diverse cultures. The program features a Catholic Studies minor, which encourages students to intellectually engage with Catholic heritage. Studying Catholicism enhances understanding of different historical and cultural contexts while developing analytical abilities valuable for graduate studies, legal education, religious vocations, faith-based instruction, social justice work, and numerous professions. This interdisciplinary minor enriches undergraduate education and pairs well with any major. Alumni with this minor have pursued careers in Catholic schools, legal practice, engineering fields, and religious service.
