Students have the opportunity to complete both bachelor's and master's degrees in religious studies in just five years, saving both time and tuition costs. Our interdisciplinary program equips graduates with valuable skills for today's multicultural work environments. Alumni have advanced their careers in diverse fields including education, nonprofit leadership, legal professions, and business, while others have enhanced their existing careers with deeper cultural and religious understanding. The program also serves as excellent preparation for doctoral studies or professional graduate programs in fields like public health or law. With its strong liberal arts foundation, the religious studies major is ideal for students pursuing careers in government, healthcare, legal fields, education, international commerce, social services, ministry, or media.
Our department provides a combined Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Religious Studies. This dual degree option allows eligible undergraduates to take graduate-level courses that count toward both degrees. Admission to the dual degree program requires formal approval from both the department and the College of Arts and Sciences. It's important to note that acceptance into the dual program doesn't guarantee admission to the master's program - students must still meet standard graduate admission requirements and complete the regular application process for the master's degree.
