Centered on globalization, diversity, and community involvement, the Hispanic and Latin American Languages, Literatures and Linguistics program delivers a cross-disciplinary, multilingual exploration of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking societies through modern viewpoints on linguistics, literature, cinema, performing arts, social work, and careers in healthcare, legal fields, commerce, education, and communications. This major enables students to develop fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese, two of the most widely spoken languages across the U.S., the Americas, and globally. The curriculum includes studies in language, cultural studies, linguistics, and literary works, alongside specialized professional language courses tailored for medical, legal, business, and other vocational settings.
